Who Knew? About the DesignerThe designer is an American student from America who likes to do this in his spare time. To be honest, though, most of the professionals at Open Source Web Design make him look like an untalented hack. The designer knows that is a little harsh: he definitely knows that he is talented, to some degree.

Hello, Generalissmo here, coming up with a new template. I was inspired to make this design by my local newspaper: I saw it and I thought about an idea for a website using a template like this. The idea has not been implemented (I don't think it ever will...), but the template still exists!
I honestly don't care if you use the document, edited or otherwise, for your own website. I don't particularly care that credit be given; however, if you intend to edit this page and resubmit it to Open Source Web Design, please email me first. My contact information is on my OSWD designer page.
This page is CSS and XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliant. This means that the page should render correctly in standard browsers (IE 6 and Firefox 1.0.7). But, then again, the pngs look like they have a background in IE 6, which they do not.
Just so you know, the logo for the site uses a font called "Old English Text MT". If you don't have it, all you will see is a serif font. Ah, too bad imbedded fonts are not well supported!
BoxThe news photo would go on the left, and the news item would go on the right. And no tables! To think, in 1997 you were using tables to pull off a design like this.
